She was broken
She thought she had me duped.
She thought I could never see her lie.
Every year, she took more and more
She lied and cried laughing inside.
She thought me stupid.
She thought me blind.
I saw every lie.
Saw through her cry.
Every year, I let her take and take.
She lied, cried until I would break.
She thought it was enough.
She thought she could just say sorry.
I knew what she did.
I knew she would.
Every year, I forgave, I wanted her loved.
I tried and tried, until it was enough.
She thought me dumb.
I knew I was numb.
Finally, it was done.
I had had enough.
I let her go.
She had taken too much.
She had taken without care.
